On behalf of the Good Neighbor Project Committee (GNPC) – (Betty J. Tilman, Founder, Walt Hales, Operations Chair); and GNPC Honorary Event Chair, The Honorable Ed Gainey; we invite you to a fundraising event as we celebrate the birthday, life, work and legacy of Dr. Vernell A. Lillie, Professor Emeritus, University of Pittsburgh, Founder of Kuntu Theatre and mentor to countless education professionals and artists.
On Friday the evening of May 5, 2017, GPNC invites you to join us at the Benedum Center as we attend “Summer King: The Josh Gibson Story” opera.
Immediately after the opera, a Private Reception will be held at the Benedum to celebrate Dr. Lillie’s birthday, life and her work. Your support of this evening will help the Good Neighbor Project Committee (GNPC) to fulfill its mission - to bring awareness to the importance of nurturing children/young adults so that they become critical thinkers and know the history of those who have created Pathways of Hope in Western Pennsylvania and the World.
Your attendance also provides support to the Josh Gibson Foundation as 10% of all ticket sales will go to the Foundation.
