Dearest Charisse and Hisani,

We Are So Very Sorry for Your Loss of Your Mom's Physical Presence on This Earth Realm but Know that She Is At Peace.  Our Hearts Are With You, Your Family and the Many Others Who Like Us,  Love Your Precious Angel Queen Mother.  

We Know that As Dr. Lillie, Your Precious Legendary Theatre Guru and Humanitarian Mother Ascended,  She Was Accompanied by Angels On This; HER FIRST HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY.  Her Spirit Will Aways Live In the Hearts of So Many of US.  

Dr. Vernell Audrey Watson Lillie was a Brilliant, Bright, Creative, Genius Light, a Warrior Spirit Queen Mother with a Heart of Gold.  She had the gift of foresight and vision that most people did not understand.  She wanted the Good for others that they could not even imagine in themselves.

 We Will Hold You All In Out Hearts and Are Honoring Her Ascension and Celebrating Dr. Lillie on Her First Birthday in Heaven with LOVE!

 #DrVernellAudreyWatsonLillie, Professor Emeritus, University of Pittsburgh and Founder of the KUNTU Repertory Theatre (one of the longest running Black Theater companies in the United States) is a member of the prestigious HISTORYMAKERS.  She has received numerous awards for her creative acumen, commitment to students, the community and work in higher education, theatre arts and psychodrama nationally and internationally.  

Dr. Lillie holds the Lifetime Achievement Award from The National Black Theatre Festival, the Career Excellence Award from the National Black Theatre Network, and the 2003 Career Achievement Award from the Association for Theatre In Higher Education.  

Dr. Vernell A. Lillie is considered an "Arts and Education Treasure".  She holds a doctorate and Masters of Arts Degree in English from Carnegie Mellon University, a B.A. Degree in Speech and Drama from Dillard University, completed graduate studies in Education and English at Texas Southern University and has an honorary doctorate from Seton Hill University.
